The siren howled out
They were all coming for him
He smiled. Let them come.
Get your daily haiku fix.
The siren howled out
They were all coming for him
He smiled. Let them come.
Too many “choices”
That’s what they always told her
The “choice” was a lie
She’s missing her smile
She last saw it years ago
Mirrors always lie
Drinking whiskey sours
She pondered how she got there
The pucker was real
A mouse named Dragon
She found the perfect roommate
A dragon named Mouse…
He looked at the duck.
It could have been tastier.
But those darn feathers!
Silence wanted out.
It screamed, trapped within his soul.
He didn’t listen.
Wrestling with thoughts
Trying to pin something down
Yeah, I lost that match
Nine years of haiku
Each a new destination
The journey continues
Nine years ago I decided to embark on an endeavor of writing just a little bit every day. To make it doable, no matter how crazy things became, I decided haiku would be the literary form I would cling to for as long as I could. Every day since 4/21/2013 I have written/posted a haiku. That makes it a 3,287 day streak! I hope not only have you enjoyed some of my poetry but that you will continue to come on this journey with me.
Fumbling with words
Creating new haiku
